Description

This B-52H (Serial No. 60-033) was the wing commander's aircraft flown by Col. Michael Loughran while he commanded the 416th Bomb Wing, 9th AF, ACC, Griffiss AFB, Rome, New York, from 1990 to1993.

La France Libre was originally the nose art found on a 416th B/G A-20 that flew 100 missions in support of operations to drive Hitler's armies from occupied Europe during WWII.

La France Libre, B-52H (Ser. No. 60-033) wore these same markings to honor the memory and sacrifices of the men of the 416th Bombardment Group in WWII.
