Convair B-58 Hustler

Revell's big 1/48 scale B-58 Hustler is available online from Squadron

Description

This is a model of the Convair B-58 Hustler. The kit is circa 1970 from Monogram in 1/48 scale.

The kit has been rescribed and painted with Alclad (first edition) paints. Total build time is about 35-40 hours. This was a fun model to build, but a little more needed to be done because of its age. A must do is replacement of the nose probe with brass tubing and piano wire. Because of its prominent position is was prone to breakage ... often.

After painting the model was sprayed with future floor wax straight from the bottle.

The decals are from Mike Grant Decals. These consist of the general markings used as a replacement for the Monogram decals (way to thick) and a small special sheet for the 'Pulaski Hustler' markings. These decals are excellent replacements for the kit decals.

After decal placement Future was used again to seal the markings. The background clear film disappears once under Future floor wax.

The pictures were taken by Slava Maksymyuk using Canon Powershot G-5 and edited using Adobe Photoshop. The background is from a picture obtained from the internet..
