Introduction

While serving with the RAF in Iraq I had the opportunity to study many British Army vehicles in detail. The Challenger II with its sand scheme and canvass side skirts was my favourite.

On my return I got hold of the Trumpeter kit (they now do a Basrah tank!) and set to work with scrap plastic, resin and paper tape. The result was a model that gives the feel and statue of the real thing, all for next to nothing.

I have been lucky enough to come first in class at the IPMS Salisbury show, win the IPMS Farnborough Wattisham Anker Trophy and best of all the West Middlesex Model Clubs 'Don Sharpe' Memorial Trophy.
