Tamiya's 1/48 scale F-84G Thunderjet is available online from Squadron.com

Here is my Tamiya 1/48 scale F-84G Thunderjet.

I built it straight from the box as this is all is needed. It is a great kit as regards to fit of parts and details.

Cockpit detail is very good with nothing being left out.

One ingenious additioin to the kit from Tamiya is the metal ball nose weight that is incorporated into the kit construction, thus saving this bird from being a tailsitter!

Ther is an option in the kit of having the nose gun bay open with a fully detailed gun bay included, however, i feel this spoils the lines of the completed model if opened.

I chose the most colourful of the 3 decal options that are included in the kit. It is aircraft FS-454 "Four Queens" of the 58th FBS in Taego 1952, Korea.

Paints used were Alclad II Polished Aluminium for the overall airframe and Humbrol enamels for the landing gear and anti-glare panel on the fuselage spine. Wheel bays were painted with Tamiya acrylics.

I really enjoyed building this model and it is a good addition to my 1/48 collection.
