FGR.2 Phantom

This is Hasegawa's 1/48 scale FGR.2 Phantom. The model was built mostly straight from the kit, although the cockpit had some details added like wiring and seatbelts for the ejection seats. The intake covers were scratchbuilt, simply a piece of plastic card cut to shape and Milliput moulded around the edges to give the impression of a cushion for sealing the intake. The model was constructed without any problems.

This model is finished in standard RAF colors for the Phantom. Weathering and drybrushing was done with oils.

My Phantom represents an FGR.2, RAF, No.2 Squadron - Laarbruch, Germany 1974. Kit decals were used throughout and I found these excellent, they went on without problems over a gloss finish.

The model still lacks Sidewinder missiles. I will attach these when I will have them available.
