Classic Airframes' 1/48 scale Fiat ICR 42 Ildrovolante is the same as their earlier release CR-42s except for not using the landing gear and cutting of the tail wheel fairing and filling the hole.

I put a thin piece of plastic stock a little larger then the hole and cut it the same shape as the hole. I then filled and sanded smooth. I also put some weights in the floats to get the plane to sit on the front of the float but did not put enough in so the plane dose not like had planed sorry I don't know how much I started with.

I painted the plane semi-gloss black. The black I think helps the silver look better then just painting over the plastic or a flat gray primer. I then used "Old Silver" from the Floquil Railroad colors for the main color of the plane.

I left the bottoms of the floats black because this it what the Italians did with all their float planes.

Well that completes the CR-42 collection!
