Description

Here's a composite I did of the Fw 190D-9 for the upcoming 21st Century Toys 1/18th scale beast. We needed a catalog image. All I had was a couple of Hasegawa 1/72 buildups, so I used one of those.

This was a fairly advanced composite as the gear was down, the prop still, the canopy opened and no pilot figure. I had to do quite a lot of work to get it to the point you see it here. The second aircraft is the same model from a different angle, with variations in markings and paint added. The sky is a shot out of a 747 window and the contrails are drawn in photoshop.

For some reason, this composite looks very much like a painting. Can't explain it, but it does. Computers do weird stuff.
