Introduction

Here is my 1/35 scale Australian Matilda Frog Flame thrower tank. According to my references, 409 Matildas were used by the Australian Army, and a few were converted into Flame throwers.

The old Tamiya kit (35024) was used with an old MR conversion (MRA-35146) I'd bought years ago on a trip to Brisbane. I painted the tank with a railway paint called "Pullmans Green" which , according to Osprey's Modelling the Matlida Infantry Tank, is a perfect match for the Frog. Most Matildas had some form of added armour on the engine deck, and I did this using wire flyscreen.

The two figures are from Firestorm. The model was weathered with MIG pastels.

I really enjoyed this conversion and I am very excited about Firestorm releasing new products for what was an important tank to the Australian Army in the Pacific during WWII
