Description

Here is a Macintosh generated image representing a Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a of III. Gruppe JG7/11. Staffel, shot down by a Mustang on 24 March, 1045 over Wittenberg.

According to one former JG 7 pilot, Gelbe 5 looked similar as the the well known Gelbe 7 from the Smithsonian Institute.

Its W.Nr. 110999 was located below the horizontal stabilizers.

The aircraft had R4M rocket launchers mounted but never carried any rockets during the short period of time it saw combat.
