Description

Every now and then I like to do something a bit different, and this time I chose a fantastic figure set from Andrea Miniatures, "The Tramp and the Kid", item number SG-F79.

It is not hard to guess who the main character is meant to be. Andrea has done a fine job. Oh, and if you haven't guessed by now, it is Charlie Chaplin! The seated boy is Jackie Coogan, who later went on to become Uncle Fester in the Addams Family.

This set is typical of the great quality that we have come to expect from Andrea. I really enjoyed assembling and painting both figures and the small base. All parts are supplied in white metal. Everything went together well with minimal cleaning, which meant that I could get down to painting a lot faster.

When it came to painting I first washed everything with methylated spirits, followed by another wash in warm soapy water then left them to air dry.

Now I could start on my favourite part - the face.

I mixed Tamiya's acrylic flesh with a little Red Brown then lightly dry-brushed a light tan over the top.Once this was dry I painted in all the facial details until I had the result that you see here.

With the figures almost finished, I sprayed a light coat of flat clear over the top to seal the paint job.

I found this to be a great little set that I would strongly recommend if you are looking for something just that little bit different.

Thanks to the Two B's from Military Workshop.
