Grumman TBF-1 Avenger

Academy's 1/72 scale TBF-1 Avenger is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here are some pictures of my TBF-1 Avenger I recently completed while at Camp Anaconda in Balad Iraq.

It is the Academy 1/72 Scale kit and its the first time to use my Iwata Airbrush to freehand a camoflauge paint scheme.

The three tone scheme was exciting to do and I'm pleased with the overall finish. The kit is a good little kit, but does lack interior details and a scale canopy. As modeling supplies are limited in Iraq we make do with what we can get through customs.

I shot the pictures on the flight line to add a little realism.

I really had fun with the kit and my new airbrush (Much better than my old Vega donated to me by my friend Josh Bowlin).

I hope you enjoy the pictures, they were as fun to take as the aircraft was to build.
